On February 20, 2025, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, in partnership with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, conducted a thorough investigation into a suspicious package sent through the mail.
The investigation led authorities to a residence in the 3800 block of Wirtz Road, where a search warrant was executed.
During the operation, law enforcement seized approximately 15 grams of methamphetamine from the property.
As a result of the discovery, David Robert Valdez, 39, of Wirtz, was arrested at the scene and charged with one felony count of intent to distribute methamphetamine in excess of 10 grams.
Valdez is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail with a $7,500 secured bond.
The investigation is still ongoing, and authorities have not ruled out further charges.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, along with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, continue to look into the case and any potential connections to larger drug distribution operations.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the case or related activities to come forward as the investigation continues.
