HENRY COUNTY, VA – A Sunday crash claimed the life of one person and injured four others.
Crews responded to Virginia Avenue in the vicinity of Horsley Road for a reported vehicle collision at 3:25 p.m.
Virginia State Police say their investigation shows that a 2010 Chevrolet Tahoe was headed south on Virginia Avenue, when the vehicle lost control, crossed the median and struck a 1998 Toyota Tacoma head-on.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as Joshua Lee Williams, 35, of Martinsville.
State police say Williams was wearing his seatbelt and died at the scene.
The Chevrolet was driven by Edward Stevens, 71, of Clinton, N.C.
According to police, Stevens was wearing his seatbelt and was transported to an area hospital for injuries received in the crash.
The three passengers of the Chevrolet were all wearing their seatbelts and were also transported to an area hospital for injuries.
The crash reconstruction team responded to assist with the crash.
Charges are pending, police say.
The crash remains under investigation.
