Student and Driver Injured in School Bus Crash in Franklin County

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va. (BTW21) — A school bus carrying 20 elementary school students was involved in a collision with another vehicle on the morning of Wednesday, May 28, resulting in injuries to one student and the driver of the other vehicle, according to school officials.
The bus was en route to Windy Gap Elementary School when the crash occurred. Emergency services responded to the scene, and both the injured student and the driver of the personal vehicle were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
School officials confirmed that all remaining students on board were evaluated by first responders at the scene.
They were also re-evaluated by medical personnel upon arriving at school as a precaution.
Authorities have not yet released details on the cause of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
