MARTINSVILLE, VIRGINIA
The Sounds on the Square concert series will wrap up its season with a lively performance by the Andy Burnette Trio on Friday, October 4, 2024.
The event will take place on the Plaza of the Historic Henry County Courthouse at 1 East Main Street from 7:00 to 10:00 P.M.
Admission is free, and attendees are encouraged to arrive early, as Scuffle Hill Brewing Company will serve craft beers starting at 6:00 P.M., while Tammy’s Grill offers delicious food options.
Guests should bring a lawn chair or blanket and invite friends and family for an enjoyable evening of live music in Uptown Martinsville.
The Andy Burnette Trio, known for their energetic performances, covers a range of genres from 70s soul to blues and funk, and performs over 120 shows annually across the region.
The trio was recently recognized in the 2024 Martinsville Bulletin Readers’ Choice Awards as “Best Musicians.” Scuffle Hill Brewing Company was awarded “Best Brewery” and “Best Place to Buy Beer,” while Tammy's Grill took home titles for “Best Food Truck,” “Best Chicken Wings,” and “Best Appetizer.”
Additionally, Sounds on the Square was a finalist in Blue Ridge Outdoors Magazine’s “Best of the Blue Ridge” for “Family Friendly Festival.”
John Phillips, President of the Historical Society, expressed, “After missing four out of six nights due to bad weather, let’s make this final night of the season the best as we transition from summer to fall.”
The event is coordinated by the Martinsville-Henry County Historical Society and sponsored by several local businesses, including Carter Bank & Trust, Children First Pediatrics, Deskins, Inc., and others.
