Shots Fired Incident in Martinsville Leaves One Injured; Investigation Ongoing

Martinsville, VA – The Martinsville Police Department is actively investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Monday evening, November 17, 2025, near the intersection of Spruce Street and Finley Street, which resulted in one man sustaining a gunshot wound.
At approximately 7:38 PM, Martinsville Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area. Upon arrival, investigators located multiple spent cartridge casings at the scene, confirming the report of gunfire.
Around the same time officers were processing the scene, a 42-year-old Martinsville man arrived at the SOVAH Health emergency room suffering from a gunshot wound.
Police investigators processed the scene for evidence and subsequently interviewed the victim regarding the incident.
The man was treated for his injuries and has since been released from the hospital.
As of Tuesday morning, no charges have been filed in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing.
