UPDATE: Juvenile charged with malicious wounding, robbery after stabbing Bassett woman


BASSETT – Monday at approximately 11:54 AM, the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call that an individual had been stabbed at 10 Misty Hill Drive in Bassett. Deputies arrived on scene and made contact with the victim, Virginia Ann Browning, 45, of 10 Misty Hill Drive. Virginia Browning was transported to SOVAH Health Martinsville for treatment. Browning was later transferred to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Through the course of the investigation it was determined a domestic altercation occurred between Virginia Browning and a juvenile male. The altercation culminated in Browning being robbed and receiving multiple lacerations and a stab wound. The juvenile male was charged with Malicious Wounding and Robbery, both charges are felonies. The juvenile male is currently held in the W.W. Moore Detention Center in Danville. This incident remains under investigation.

BASSETT – An investigation is underway by the Henry County Sheriff's Office after a woman was stabbed in Bassett. The woman called 911 to report that she had been stabbed at her home on Misty Hill Drive. The incident occurred around 11:50 AM Monday. Radio traffic did not indicate by who and where the female was stabbed. The female was taken to the emergency room for treatment of her injuries.
