Rockingham County Sheriff's Office to take part in No-Shave November

WENTWORTH, NC – Things are about to get hairy at the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Sam Page has approved for his team at the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office to participate in “No-Shave November.”

During the month of November, male deputies, employees of the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office will be allowed to grow their facial hair outside the regular grooming standards set forth by agency policy; while female deputies, employees can wear their hair down and crazy nail polish if they so choose.

Deputies and civilian employees participating in "No-Shave November" will each donate $20, which this year will be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world. St. Jude is helping increase childhood cancer survival rates, and treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. Best of all, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because during such a time, all a family should have to focus on is the health and well-being of their child.
