Ridgeway men arrested after meth, fentanyl and guns seized




RIDGEWAY, VA – Two men are behind bars after the Henry County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Danville Police Department, carried out a drug search warrant on Tuesday morning.


Sheriff Wayne Davis said his office purchased narcotics from a mobile home and a nearby camper in the 1100 block of Joppa Road in Ridgeway.


The search found meth inside the mobile home, fentanyl inside the camper, and evidence suggesting drug distribution, according to Sheriff Davis.


Additionally, authorities seized 17 illegally owned firearms and a large amount ammunition.


Joshua Chad Cox, 43, of Joppa Road, was charged with the following:

  • Possession of schedule I or II drugs (Meth)

  • Possession of a firearm while in possession of scheduled I or II drug

  • Possession of firearm by convicted felon

  • Possession of a saw-off shotgun

  • Maintaining a fortified drug house

  • Possession of ammunition by convicted felon    

           

Warren Doty Clark, 70, also of Joppa Road, was charged with possession of scheduled I or II drugs (Fentanyl) and possession of a firearm while in possession of schedule I or II drugs.

 

Both men are being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center; Clark on a $5,000 secure bond and Cox under no bond.

 

This remains an ongoing investigation and additional charges are anticipated.
