UPDATE: RIDGEWAY – On May 18, 2018, it was reported to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office that Silas Bascom Jewell Sr. was missing by his wife, Brenda Jewell. He was last seen at his residence, 10613 Greensboro Rd., Martinsville, Virginia at approximately 5:30am.
Through the combined efforts of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management Search and Rescue Teams from across the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Ridgeway Volunteer Rescue Squad, and members of his family, Jewell was located unharmed on May 20, 2018. Soon after being found, Jewell was transported to the SOVAH Health Hospital in Martinsville, VA.
