Multiple injuries reported after vehicle crashes into residence




FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – A serious crash unfolded Tuesday night in Franklin County, resulting in injuries to several individuals, including children.


A 2006 Ford Mustang veered off the road on Foggy Ridge Road around 8:51 p.m. and went through a nearby residence, according to Virginia State Police.


Emergency services swiftly responded, transporting the injured to various hospitals for treatment.


State Police said a 2-year-old boy is fighting for his life in the hospital and an 8-year-old boy, an 8-year-old girl, a 28-year-old woman, and a 69-year-old woman received non-life-threatening injuries.


The 32-year-old male driver of the Ford also sustained injuries in the accident.


Fortunately, there have been no reported fatalities stemming from the crash.


Police said the investigating trooper will consult with the Franklin County Commonwealth Attorney's Office when the investigation has been completed, as to any charges that will be placed.


To aid in the investigation, the state police crash reconstruction team was summoned to the scene.


Authorities are working to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident, which is currently under investigation.
