Ridgeway Man Arrested After Domestic Stabbing, Charged with Abduction and Strangulation

RIDGEWAY,VA A Ridgeway man has been arrested and charged following a domestic stabbing that occurred early on September 19,2025.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call around 9:17 a.m. reporting the assault, which allegedly took place earlier that morning at 57 Creekway Trail.
According to authorities, the incident occurred at approximately 6:00 a.m., when Keyon Lesam Hairston, 39, returned home after being absent overnight.
Witnesses stated that Hairston began yelling at the door before forcibly kicking it open. Once inside, he reportedly grabbed the victim by the arm and dragged her into a back bedroom.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, stated that during the altercation, she tried to make her way to the kitchen but was followed by Hairston, who then reportedly placed his hands around her neck, choking her to the point where she could not breathe.
Fearing for her life, the victim managed to grab a knife from the kitchen, cut Hairston in the process, and broke free.
The Henry County Sheriff's Office dispatched deputies and investigators to the scene shortly after the incident. The team processed the area for evidence and conducted interviews with several witnesses.
Following the investigation, Hairston was charged with:
Abduction by Force (Virginia Code Section 18.2-47)
Strangulation (Virginia Code Section 18.2-51.6)
Hairston is currently being held at the Henry County Adult Detention Center without bond.
The investigation into the domestic assault is ongoing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
