Prescription Drug Take Back Day is this Saturday in Martinsville




MARTINSVILLE, VA – The Drug-Free MHC Coalition will join the Drug Enforcement Administration in support of the 21st National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this Saturday.


The biannual event will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martinsville Fire Department at 65 West Church Street.


The event is an effort to rid homes of potentially dangerous, expired, unused and unwanted prescription drugs.


It also provide an opportunity for people to prevent drug addiction and overdose deaths.


The DEA cannot accept liquids, needles or sharps, only pills or patches.


The service is free and anonymous with no questions asked.


If you are unable to attend this drive-through event, but would like to get rid of unwanted medications, contact Drug Free MHC Coordinator Tobie Panos at tpanos@piedmontcsb.org about medication disposal kits.


You can visit one of the local permanent drop box locations at the Henry County Jail or Martinsville City Police Department between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.
