Police chase through multiple counties ends with vehicle spin-out

CAMPBELL COUNTY, VA – A Campbell County man was arrested after he led police on a pursuit through multiple counties on Sunday afternoon.

The Pittsylvania County Sheriff's Office said the pursuit initiated in Henry County at around 1:22 p.m.

During the course of the pursuit, police said the vehicle, a 2010 Nissan Altima, struck a Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Deputy vehicle and a Virginia State Police trooper’s vehicle.

The driver of the Nissan lost control in the northbound lanes, spun around and ran off into the median near Calohan Road.

The suspect, Shane Wilson, of Evington, was taken into custody without further incident, according to police.

No law enforcement personnel were injured during the pursuit, nor was Wilson or his passenger.

Authorities say Wilson was arrested on an outstanding warrant for a parole violation and charged by state police with multiple felony and misdemeanor charges.

The incident remains under investigation.
