Pittsylvania County Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash Thursday Night

PITTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. (btw21) — A 36-year-old Altavista man is dead after a single-vehicle crash Thursday evening in Pittsylvania County, according to the Virginia State Police.
The crash happened around 7:45 p.m. on Level Run Road.
State Police say a 2020 Chevrolet was traveling west when it ran off the left side of the roadway, went down an embankment, and struck several trees.
The driver, identified as Corey Deangelo Davis, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Davis was transported to Centra Gretna Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash, according to VSP.
The crash remains under investigation.
