HENRY COUNTY, VA – A man was killed and another was arrested following an argument outside a Henry County business on Friday afternoon.
The 9-1-1 center received a call that a man had been shot in the parking lot of Kuntry Boyz Tires on AL Philpott Highway at about 12:23 p.m.
Deputies arrived 5 minutes later and found, 44-year-old Donny Shermaine Martin, of Martinsville, with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, according to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The body will be transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia where an autopsy will be performed.
Authorities say an argument turned deadly when 39-year-old Stephen Darnell Holland, of Axton, shot Martin multiple times.
Holland was charged with first-degree murder and using a firearm in the commission of a felony and is currently being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
