HENRY COUNTY, VA – A person died after accidentally shooting himself while cleaning a gun in Henry County on Sunday.
The person called 9-1-1 just before 8 p.m., saying they shot themselves in the stomach.
Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis told BTW21 News that the person told his deputies the same information of what occurred when they arrived on scene.
The person was later pronounced dead not long after talking to deputies.
This happened on Hale’s Fish Pond Road off of Stones Dairy Road.
