Patrick Springs Woman Dies in Early Morning Crash

PATRICK COUNTY, Va. – Virginia State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of a Patrick Springs woman early Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred at 5:29 a.m. on September 16 on Pleasant View Drive, near the intersection of Spring Road.
According to investigators, a 2007 Chevrolet Colorado was traveling north on Spring Road and attempted to turn left onto Pleasant View Drive when it ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
The driver, identified as Jessie Lea Plasters, 53, of Patrick Springs, was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Authorities believe she may have suffered a medical emergency while behind the wheel.
Plasters was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation by the Virginia State Police.
