COLLINSVILLE, VA – A man was charged with a driving under the influence of drugs after a collision in Collinsville on Wednesday morning.
The crash took place at around 10:27 a.m. on Virginia Avenue near the intersection of Daniels Creek Road.
According to Virginia State Police, the driver of a brown Kia minivan overdosed and rear-ended a white Ford pickup truck.
First responders administered NARCAN to revive the “at fault driver” at the scene, police said.
Air ambulance was requested and landed at Jack Dalton Park.
Once on the ground, the Kia driver refused to be transported via helicopter and was taken by ambulance to Sovah Heath in Martinsville.
The Collinsville Volunteer Fire Department and the Henry County Department of Public Safety assisted on scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
