Nine COVID-19 cases identified in Henry County, one each in Martinsville, Patrick County



The West Piedmont Health District reported that 11 individuals tested positive for COVID-19.


Nancy Bell, the district's Population Health Manager, said Saturday's eight confirmed cases in Henry County were five women and three men in their 20s, 30s and 60s.


A Patrick County man in his 20s also contracted the coronavirus.


Sunday's reported cases were a Martinsville man and a Henry County man, both in their 60s.

That pushed Henry County's total to 108 cases with eight hospitalizations and three deaths.


Martinsville has a total of 39 cases, including six hospitalizations and one death.


Patrick County is now at 18 cases with no hospitalizations or deaths.


Franklin County remained at 35 cases with four hospitalizations and two deaths.
