National Correctional Officers Week: Livy's delivers ice cream to correctional officers

HENRY COUNTY, VA – This week is National Correctional Officers Week.

In Henry County, correction officers make up about one third of the sheriff's office.

Livy’s ice cream shop in Collinsville decided to spread some love and appreciation by providing them with some Homestead Creamery ice cream on Thursday.

“Sometimes they’re overlooked because they work behind the scenes, but correction officers play a vital role in our local law enforcement agency. This small gesture of appreciation from Livy’s is the least we can do for this extraordinary group of men and women. Spreading love, one scoop at a time,” owner Rodney Billings said.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office thanked the ice cream shop.

These officers are not seen by the general public on a daily basis, however the work they do is tremendous. Special thank you to Livy’s ice cream shop for the ice cream today, the sheriff's office said in a Facebook post.
