Narcotics Traffic Stop

Henry County, VA
On October 23, 2024, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Interdiction Unit conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of two individuals and the discovery of suspected fentanyl.
The stop, carried out by the Narcotics Interdiction Unit, revealed suspected fentanyl inside the vehicle driven by Rhona Crutchfield, 60, and occupied by Amanda Spangler, 44. Ms. Crutchfield was arrested due to outstanding distribution charges in Henry County, while Ms. Spangler faces charges for possession of a controlled substance.
Information gathered during the traffic stop led VICE Investigators to a residence at 65 South Creek Court in Collinsville, VA.
Following this lead, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team executed a narcotics search warrant at the location, resulting in the seizure of suspected methamphetamine, fentanyl, and digital scales.
All substances will be analyzed at the Department of Forensic Science in Roanoke.
During the search, Tiwan Maurice Dillard, 49, of Bassett, VA, was found inside the residence.
He was arrested on an outstanding charge from Martinsville City for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Following the search, Mr. Dillard was also charged with violating Virginia Code Section 18.2-250: Possession of a Controlled Substance.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community through ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activity.
This investigation is ongoing.
