RIDGEWAY – UPDATE
On May 18, 2018, it was reported to the Henry County Sheriff’s Office that Silas Bascom Jewell Sr. was missing by his wife, Brenda Jewell. He was last seen at his residence, 10613 Greensboro Rd., Martinsville, Virginia at approximately 5:30am.
Through the combined efforts of the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, the Virginia State Police, the Virginia Department of Emergency Management Search and Rescue Teams from across the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Ridgeway Volunteer Rescue Squad, and members of his family, Jewell was located unharmed on May 20, 2018. Soon after being found, Jewell was transported to the SOVAH Health Hospital in Martinsville, VA.
An appreciation of support would also like to be given to the American Red Cross and the community.
5/18/18. The Henry County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the assistance of the public in locating an adult male that has been missing since the morning of May 18, 2018. Silas Bascom Jewell Sr. was reported missing on May 18, 2018 by his wife, Brenda Jewell. He was last seen at his residence, 10613 Greensboro Rd., Martinsville, Virginia at approximately 5:30am.
Jewell was last seen at his residence wearing a blue checkered shirt and blue jeans. Jewell is described as 6’0’’ tall, 150 pounds, gray hair and blue eyes. Deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office along with members of his family have made numerous searches of the surrounding area of his home on Greensboro Rd. and J.B. Dalton Rd. attempting to locate Jewell.
Anyone having information regarding the whereabouts of Silas Bascom Jewell Sr. is asked to contact the Henry County Sheriff’s Office at (276) 638-8751 or the Crimestoppers Program at 63-CRIME (632-7463). The Crimestoppers Program offers rewards up to $2500.00 for information related to crime. The nature of the crime and the substance of the information determine the amount of reward paid.
