Mayodan Man Arrested on Child Exploitation Charges Following Cybertip Investigation

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. (BTW21) — A joint investigation between the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Homeland Security has resulted in the arrest of a Mayodan man on multiple child exploitation charges.
On June 13, 2025, investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division executed a search warrant at a residence located at 601 Means Creek Road in Mayodan.
The search was based on information received through a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC).
As a result of the investigation, 23-year-old Dylan Alexander Cox was arrested and charged with five counts of Second-Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor.
Cox was given a $100,000 secured bond and is currently being held at the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on June 24, 2025.
The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office extended its gratitude to the Department of Homeland Security for its assistance in the investigation.
