Martinsville, VA — The holiday season will shine a little brighter this year as the Martinsville Police Department, Martinsville Sheriff’s Office, and Henry County Sheriff’s Office come together to host the annual Santa Cops for Kids event, an initiative dedicated to spreading joy to children throughout the community.

On Saturday, December 13, 2025, beginning at 8:00 a.m., officers will gather at the Walmart in Martinsville to greet 175 children from the Martinsville/Henry County area for a festive morning of holiday shopping and heartwarming memories.

This year’s turnout marks the largest event to date, a testament to the ongoing commitment of local law enforcement to support families and foster strong community connections.

The event will continue until 11:00 a.m., giving children the opportunity to shop alongside officers, share laughter, and experience the magic of the season in a safe and uplifting environment.

Members of the media are warmly invited to attend, capture the excitement, and help share the story of generosity and community spirit with the broader public.

As the holiday season approaches, organizers say the event represents more than just shopping, it highlights the positive partnerships between law enforcement and the residents they serve.

Above all, the goal remains simple: ensuring every child leaves with a smile.

For families, officers, and the entire Martinsville/Henry County community, Santa Cops for Kids continues to be a reminder that the strongest gift a community can offer is unity.
