Martinsville men arrested for armed robbery of sweepstakes business

EDEN, NC – Four Martinsville men were arrested for the armed robbery of a sweepstakes business.


Eden Police say they were dispatched to The Vault, a gaming establishment, Saturday at approximately 11:30 PM.


Officers say the suspects displayed firearms as they entered the business.


One of the suspects and an employee fired at each other, wounding the suspect, according to police.


The suspects fled back to Martinsville where they were later identified.


18-year-old Darehyon Monte Rucker and 20-year-old Yalieq Desmond-Zire Brown were arrested by Martinsville Police and are being held under no bond.


20-year-old Jordan Christopher Turner turned himself in to Martinsville Police on Sunday.


Also on Sunday, 19-year-old James Davonte Flood was taken into custody by Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Law Enforcement Division.


Turner and Flood are being held under no bond awaiting extradition back to North Carolina.


The four men have been charged with attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon.


Brown and Turner were also charged in the armed robbery of Park-Vue Mart in Eden on Saturday.
