Martinsville Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness has new executive director

HENRY COUNTY, VA – The Martinsville Henry County Coalition for Health and Wellness and its board of directors appointed Marcus Stone as their new executive director.

Stone succeeds Barbara Jackman, the founder of the coalition for health and wellness.

On March 1, he will officially assume responsibilities from Jackman who will be retiring.

“Marcus is an experienced leader and accomplished healthcare professional who is also a lifelong area resident. Marcus understands our local healthcare needs and challenges and this knowledge, combined with his leadership skills and abilities, will serve him well in directing the Coalition's efforts to continue providing quality services to our patients in an ever-changing healthcare environment,” said James Hyler, President of the board of directors.

Stone comes to the coalition from Sovah Health in Martinsville with nearly ten years of healthcare experience.

At Sovah, he most recently served as Market Director of Education.

“I am thrilled to be joining such a great organization in the Martinsville-Henry County community,” Stone said. “And I am looking forward to partnering with the Board, staff and the community in providing comprehensive medical care that aligns with the needs of the patients that we are privileged to serve.”

In Stone’s new role, he will work closely with the board of directors and be responsible for the overall leadership, operational and financial performance, as well as coordinating the strategic direction of the organization.
