Martinsville City Boil Water Advisory Has Been Lifted

MARTINSVILLE, VA

On June 21, 2024, customers of Martinsville City were informed of a water problem and advised to boil all drinking and cooking water as a precaution.

This advisory was issued due to a temporary water loss and reduced pressure in the system.

We are pleased to announce that subsequent testing on June 22nd and June 23rd has confirmed that all distribution samples tested negative for bacteria.

As a result, the boil water notice has been lifted, and it is no longer necessary to boil your drinking or cooking water.

We apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused and sincerely thank you for your patience and cooperation throughout this period.

Please help spread this information to everyone who consumes Martinsville's water, especially those who may not have received this notice directly, such as residents in apartments, nursing homes, schools, and businesses.

You can do this by sharing this notice in public places or distributing copies by hand or mail.

For any further questions or concerns, please contact Mandy Muse at (276) 403-5157 or visit the Martinsville Water Resources Department at 55 W. Church Street, Room #226.

This concludes our update on the Martinsville Waterworks situation.
