On November 23, 2020, at approximately 2:48 am, the Martinsville-Henry County 911 Center received a call from SOVAH Health Martinsville in reference to an individual that had arrived at the emergency room with a gunshot wound. Deputies with the Henry County Sheriff’s Office responded to the hospital and spoke with a male victim in the emergency room
The victim was identified as William Bradley Clark, 41, of Morgan Ford Rd., Ridgeway, Virginia. Mr. Clark suffered a gunshot wound to the back. Clark was initially treated at SOVAH Health Martinsville and subsequently air-lifted to Roanoke, Virginia for treatment.
Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that a verbal altercation occurred between William Clark and his brother, Tracy Dean Clark. The altercation culminated in Tracy Clark producing a firearm and shooting his brother, William Clark, in the back.
Deputies responded to the home of Tracy Clark, where the shooting took place. Deputies attempted to make contact with Clark, but he refused to exit the house. Negotiators from the Sheriff’s Office made continuous attempts to contact Clark. After approximately three hours, Clark was observed inside of the home and taken into custody without incident.
Tracy Dean Clark, 53, of Hobson Rd., Axton, Virginia, has been charged with Malicious Wounding and Use of a Firearm during the commission of a felony. Tracy Clark is currently being held in the Henry County Jail without bond.
