PATRICK COUNTY, VA – A Stuart man was arrested in Stokes County, North Carolina for stabbing a man and a woman in Martinsville.
It all started on Thursday at around 5:00 p.m. when the Martinsville Police Department was called to 20 Progress Drive for a domestic related altercation that led to the stabbing of two people.
A male victim tried to drive himself to the hospital, but ended up stopping at American National Bank located on Liberty Street, according to the police department.
He was treated by Martinsville Fire & EMS on scene before being flown to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
Authorities said the female victim received minor injuries.
The suspect, Kasey Shane Blake, 33, of 1151 Trot Valley Road in Stuart, left before officers got to the scene.
On Saturday, multiple deputies with the Patrick County Sheriff's Office were searching for Blake for the Martinsville incident and for felony eluding police relating to an incident on Friday night on Trot Valley Road in Stuart.
At around 4:45 p.m., a deputy spotted a gray 2015 Kia SUV that Blake had allegedly taken from his grandmother.
According to Sheriff Dan Smith, the Kia did not stop for the deputy, fled on Shepherd Mill Road and crossed into North Carolina before crashing a short time later.
Blake was taken in to custody and was turned over to the Stokes County, North Carolina, Sheriff's Office.
He will be held on a fugitive from justice warrant pending his extradition back to Virginia.
He is facing two counts of attempted second degree murder along with other charges.
