Major Drug Bust in Eden: Samuel Southern Faces Multiple Charges After Traffic Stop

EDEN, NC – (BTW21) On March 27, 2025, the Eden Police Department made a significant drug-related arrest after officers initiated a routine traffic stop on a 2001 Dodge Neon.
During the stop, officers discovered a substantial quantity of narcotics, leading to the arrest of the driver, Samuel Southern, 32, of Stokes County.
Southern faces a series of serious charges, including:
Manufacturing, Selling, and Distributing a Controlled Substance within 1,000 Feet of a Park (Felony)
Possession of Cocaine (Felony)
Possession of Methamphetamine (Felony)
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Cocaine (Felony)
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Schedule III Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession with Intent to Sell or Distribute (PWISD) Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Felony) x2
Maintaining a Dwelling for the Purpose of Selling a Controlled Substance (Felony)
Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor)
Possession of Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Misdemeanor) x2
After his arrest, Samuel Southern was transported to the Rockingham County Magistrate's Office. A secure bond of $300,000 was set, and he is scheduled to appear in Wentworth District Court on April 1, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
Eden Police continue to investigate the incident, and authorities are asking anyone with information regarding this case to come forward.
