Local animal control to appear on A&E's 'Live Rescue'

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Franklin County Animal Control will appear on A&E's 'Live Rescue' on Monday.


Deputy Chief and Fire MarshalI J. E. Mason said they were contacted by A&E Network to appear on an upcoming episode of the reality TV show that is slated to air between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m.


According to Mason, the story will cover the rescue of a beagle that got trapped underground in Fork Mountain on Monday, February 10.


Animal Control Officers B. Lamm, J. Custer and C. Brooks along with career staff D. O’Neal and Chief John Stanley from the Fork Mountain Volunteer Fire Department assisted in the rescue and extrication of the canine.


“This episode is tentative to air Monday night depending on the live footage being covered. Congratulations to all of those involved in the successful rescue and demonstrating exceptional teamwork and representing what Franklin County is truly about, helping others,” said Mason.
