
SPENCER – The man who was found shot to death in the backyard of a Spencer home has been identified.
Henry County Sheriff Lane Perry said they received a shots fired call at 1:46 AM at 376 Arrowhead Circle, but deputies found no evidence of gunfire.
At around 8:18 AM, the sheriff's office got another call about a body being found in the backyard of 400 Arrowhead Circle.
Deputies arrived and found the body of an African American man dressed in dark clothing.
The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the Western District of Virginia conducted an autopsy on Monday.
The decedent has been identified as Brandon Jermal Lucas, 29, of South Battleridge Drive, North Chesterfield.
The manner of death has been ruled as a homicide with the cause of death being a gunshot wound.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office would like to encourage the public to come forward with any information they may have on this case.
