
HORSEPASTURE, VA – A Henry County woman led authorities on a high speed chase on Thursday night.
At about 9:40 p.m., a deputy says he attempted a traffic stop for on Jeep SUV for a headlight that wasn't working.
The driver then led the deputy on a 35-minute chase with speeds of up to 93 miles per hour from Bassett to Horsepasture.
State Police deployed spike strips on Preston Road which were successful.
Before stopping, the woman called 9-1-1 saying that one of her three children, a 16-month-old, was inside the SUV.
At around 10:20 p.m., the chase came to an end at the Dollar General on A L Philpott Highway in Horsepasture.
The child was turned over to a family member.
Kelsey Moles, 27, of Fieldale was charged with three felonies and four misdemeanors, which include reckless endangerment, according to the sheriff's office.
