Henry County Sheriff’s Office Introduces New K9 Team to Fight Drugs

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (BTW21) — The Henry County Sheriff’s Office has added a new member to its ranks — K9 Axel, who will be serving alongside his handler, Deputy Brad Parnell, as part of the agency’s Narcotics Interdiction Team.
K9 Axel recently completed his training and is now officially certified in article search, tracking, and narcotics detection by the North American Police Work Dog Association.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Axel has already proven to be a valuable asset in the fight against illegal drugs.
“When narcotics are present, K9 Axel will find them,” officials said, praising the dog’s sharp instincts and dedication.
Sheriff Wayne Davis commended Deputy Parnell and Axel for their hard work and commitment to keeping the community safe.
The duo is expected to play a key role in ongoing efforts to locate and apprehend drug offenders throughout Henry County.
The Sheriff’s Office says the new K9 team is already making a strong impact and will continue to be a major force in combating narcotics activity across the region.
