Henry County man wanted in three counties arrested after multi-state pursuit

PATRICK COUNTY, VA – A fugitive wanted in Patrick, Henry and Franklin counties was recently arrested in North Carolina following a vehicle chase.

Eric Lee Baliles, 43, of Spencer, was arrested on November 17 after he led law enforcement on a pursuit, initiated by the Henry County Sheriff’s Office, that crossed state lines.

Patrick County Sheriff Dan Smith said that his office, the Henry and Franklin County sheriff’s offices, the Virginia State Police and the United States Marshal Service had been searching for Baliles for weeks.

“Baliles was wanted from our jurisdiction for felony breaking and entering and grand larceny, and for a probation violation,” Sheriff Smith said.

Baliles is accused in felony warrants for recently breaking in to a property on Virginia North Carolina Road in the Moorfield Store area of Patrick County.

The Sheriff said Baliles is being held in the Rockingham County, NC jail and will be extradited back to Virginia to stand trial in all three counties.
