Henry County man wanted for Valentine's Day stabbing




HENRY COUNTY, VA – A man is fighting for his life in the hospital and another is at large after a stabbing in Henry County.


Deputies responded to the 1500 block of Crestridge Road in Bassett around 3:50 a.m. and say they found Christopher Ayers, 35, with multiple stab wounds to his lower back.


Jacchaeus Leath, 34, stabbed Ayers in the 2900 block of Stones Dairy Road during an altercation then fled the scene, according to Henry County Sheriff Wayne Davis.


Sheriff Davis said Ayers was driven to Crestridge Road and was then flown to the hospital for life-threatening injuries.


Leath of Fieldale is currently wanted for malicious wounding.
