FRANKLIN COUNTY – A Lexington woman is dead following a Sunday morning accident in Franklin County.
State police say the crash happened at 11:45 AM on Booker T. Washington Highway (Route 122), one mile south of Harmony School Road (Route 634).
Police say a 2009 Toyota Yaris was traveling south on Booker T. Washington Highway, when the vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2011 Nissan Rogue head-on.
The driver of the Toyota was identified as Michelle Marie Deacon, 55, of Lexington. Deacon was wearing her seatbelt and died at the scene.
The Nissan driver and a passenger were wearing their seatbelts and were transported for injuries received in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
