Franklin County drug interdiction ends with 12 drug charges

FRANKLIN COUNTY – On October 18, The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office conducted a drug interdiction with a total of 40 traffic stops.

Areas patrolled are Virgil Goode Highway, Redwood Road, Chestnut Hill Road, Old Franklin Tpke, Henry Road, Webster Road, Goldenview Road, Franklin Street, Route 122, Goose Dam Road, Fork Mountain Road, Sontag Road, Robin Ridge Road, Old Ferrum Road, Burnt Chimney Road, Doe Run Road, Power Dam Road, Town, Ferrum College and Timber Line Road.

All the following were occupants of a vehicle:

  • Black Males:13

  • White Males: 30

  • Hispanic Males: 3

  • Black Females: 3

  • White Females:12

  • Hispanic Females: 0

Traffic Summonses/Criminal Charges

  • Summonses: 26

  • Drug Charges:12

  • Misdemeanor Arrests: 17

  • Felony Arrests: 6

  • Vehicle Searches: 17

Misdemeanor Arrest Charges:

Reckless Driving, Drive Suspended, Possess Marijuana, Possess Paraphernalia

Felony Arrest Charges:

Possess Methamphetamine, Conspiracy to Distribute Methamphetamine

K9 Utilizations: 7, Meth and Marijuana were found in two different stops
