Former Cave Spring Athletic Director Sentenced to Over 15 Years for Child Pornography Offenses

ROANOKE, Va. (BTW21) A former Cave Spring High School athletic director has been sentenced to 15 years and seven months in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing child pornography, according to federal court records.


Randall Meck, who had been living in Singapore, was arrested on December 21, 2024.


Investigators say Meck admitted to traveling to the Philippines multiple times between 2021 and 2024 to engage in sexual activity with minors.


Federal documents also state he possessed more than 700 images and videos depicting the sexual abuse of children.


Upon completing his prison term, Meck will remain under lifetime supervised release.


In addition to his sentence, Meck was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment and $5,000 in restitution to victims.


Federal authorities have not released additional details regarding the investigation.
