Firefighters respond to structure, brush fires on Sunday afternoon

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Firefighters in Franklin County responded to multiple fires on Sunday afternoon.

One of the fires reported was on Woodcutters Circle involving a structure.

Units from Glade Hill, Cool Branch, Smith Mountain Lake, Rocky Mount, Snow Creek and Westlake responded.

Responding Fire said initial arriving units found a fully involved outbuilding which had spread to dry brush endangering a residence.

Firefighters made quick work, containing the fire within fifteen minutes.

Several other brush and grass fires occurred in the Snow Creek area of the county.
