FRANKLIN COUNTY – Firefighters in Franklin County battled a blaze that spread to multiple outbuildings on Tuesday.

Residents in the 300 block of Murray Knob Road reported hearing an explosion before the fire broke out.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a fully involved storage building in flames.

The blaze spread to other outbuildings and a woodshed.

Firefighters from Boones Mill, Rocky Mount, Callaway and Roanoke County were able to prevent the fire from spreading to a home and garage that were adjacent to the sheds.
