Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash in Rockbridge County Under Investigation

ROCKBRIDGE COUNTY, Va. – A fatal crash in Rockbridge County on Friday evening has prompted an ongoing investigation by Virginia State Police.
At approximately 6:52 p.m. on November 14, a 2012 Honda Odyssey was traveling west on Route 60, about one mile east of Reid Hollow Road, when the vehicle veered off the right side of the roadway.
According to Virginia State Police, the vehicle went down an embankment, struck several trees, and ultimately overturned.
The driver, identified as 83-year-old Eugene Wilson of Buena Vista, Va., was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash but tragically died at the scene.
State Police confirmed that no other vehicles were involved, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
Investigators are looking into all possible factors, including road conditions and vehicle mechanics, though no further details have been released at this time.
