Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Botetourt County Under Investigation

BOTETOURT COUNTY, Va. (BTW21)– The Virginia State Police is currently investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred late Saturday night, March 29, on Route 460, near the intersection with the Blue Ridge Parkway in Botetourt County.
The crash happened at approximately 11:15 p.m. when a 2011 Triumph Thruxton 900 motorcycle, traveling east on Route 460, ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a brick wall.
The impact resulted in severe injuries to the driver, who was later identified as Darnell Wesley Adams, 27, of White Plains, MD.
Despite wearing a helmet, Adams was critically injured in the crash and was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Virginia State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and no further details have been released at this time.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether speed, weather conditions, or other factors contributed to the crash.
This tragic incident highlights the ongoing dangers of motorcycling, especially in rural and less-traveled areas.
