Fatal Crash in Henry County Under Investigation by Virginia State Police

Henry County, Va. – A fatal two-vehicle crash in Henry County is under investigation by the Virginia State Police. The incident occurred on Thursday, October 16, at approximately 12:45 p.m. on A.L. Philpott Highway near Preston Road.
According to police, a 2012 Ford Fusion was exiting the Dollar General parking lot and attempted to make a left turn onto the highway when it failed to yield the right of way.
The Ford was subsequently struck by an eastbound 2019 Mack Granite truck.
The driver of the Ford Fusion, identified as 80-year-old Cinderella Williams Carr of Patrick Springs, Va., was wearing her seatbelt but died at the scene from her injuries.
The driver of the Mack truck was not injured in the crash.
At this time, no charges are pending, and the investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
Virginia State Police are continuing to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
