FLOYD, Va. — The Floyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, in partnership with the Rockbridge County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the Virginia State Police, announced that a series of indictments have been handed down by a Floyd County Grand Jury under the Virginia Racketeer Influenced and Criminal Organization Act (RICO).
According to officials, the indictments target individuals accused of participating in an organized criminal network involved in drug distribution, prostitution, and human trafficking.
Authorities say the operation stretched across multiple jurisdictions, including both Floyd and Rockbridge counties.
“This investigation represents an extensive collaboration between our offices and law enforcement,” the Floyd County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office said in a joint statement. “We remain committed to dismantling organized crime and ensuring the safety of our communities.”
The Virginia State Police assisted in the investigation, which authorities described as a significant step toward addressing organized criminal activity in the region.
Officials noted that additional details will be released as the case moves forward through the judicial process.
