Detectives still seeking leads in unsolved 2016 murder

EDEN, NC – It's been 7 years since 23-year-old Cornelius Montrell Clark was found dead at a crash site.

The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is hoping the public can help them generate new leads.

On November 20, 2016 shortly after 1 a.m., a citizen called 9-1-1 to report a vehicle crash on Harrington Highway in Eden.

Deputies responded and said they found Clark lying on the side of the road a short distance from a wrecked silver Mercury Monterey minivan.

According to the sheriff’s office, he had an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso and he was taken to Morehead Hospital, where he later died.

Sheriff Sam Page is urging anyone with information about this murder, no matter how insignificant they may think it is, to call the Sheriff’s Office at 336-634-3232 or the Rockingham County Crime Stoppers at 336-349-9683.

Callers remain anonymous and can receive a cash reward for information leading to an arrest.
