FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – Danielle Poe has been appointed as the director of economic development for Franklin County.

Since 2022, she has served as the assistant director of economic development in Roanoke County, overseeing various responsibilities such as real estate development, business retention and expansion, and fostering important community partnerships.

“Franklin County has made key public investments that position the County for growth,” said Poe. “I’m excited to put my passion for economic development to work helping the County take advantage of the opportunities ahead.”

Prior to her role in Roanoke County, Poe held positions as the business manager for the Roanoke Regional Airport Commission, an economic development specialist for Downtown Roanoke, Inc., and gained experience in real estate and property management.

Poe currently serves as the 2024 chair of Leadership Roanoke Valley and was recognized in the 2024 "40 Under 40" list by the Roanoker magazine.

“Dani is the experienced leader needed at a critical juncture in Franklin County’s progress,” said County Administrator Christopher Whitlow. “It was clear during the interview process that she understands the County’s value proposition and knows how to leverage the county’s advantages to create jobs and investment, develop its workforce, and continue to enhance livability.”

She is a graduate of Radford University and is set to complete the University of Oklahoma’s Economic Development Institute program next month.

Her tenure will commence on April 15th.
