The Virginia Department of Health reported that ten COVID-19 cases were identified Friday in the West Piedmont Health District.
Martinsville had five confirmed cases of the virus, four females and one male in their teens and 40s, according to Nancy Bell, the district's Population Health Manager.
Bell reported that two Henry County women in their 30s and 40s contracted the coronavirus.
In Franklin County, a man in his 50s tested positive.
A woman and a man in their 60s and 70s were the two identified cases in Patrick County.
Henry County's total increased to 61, Franklin County's total is at 32, Martinsville has 30 cases, and Patrick County now has 14 cases.
