A body was recovered from the scene of a fire on 911 Applewood Road in Henry County on Friday morning.
The body has been sent to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke for identification.
Multiple fire crews were dispatched to assist with a structure fire that was reported to the Martinsville- Henry County 911 Communications Center at 10:53 a.m.
Agencies that responded included the Horsepasture Volunteer Fire Department, the Fieldale Volunteer Fire Department, the Patrick-Henry Volunteer Fire Department, the Henry County Department of Public Safety and the Henry County Sheriff’s Office.
The fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
