Body pulled from river identified as Roanoke man

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – The Franklin County Sheriff's Office has identified the body that was pulled from a river on Tuesday.


The Sheriff's Office got a call around 5 p.m. that the body had been found in the Hardy area of the Roanoke River.


The victim was identified as 33-year-old Christopher Illes Csorba, of Roanoke.


The cause of death is still under investigation.


Csorba was last seen alive in the area of Walnut Avenue in Roanoke.


Anyone that has information on recent interactions with Csorba, is asked contact the Sheriff’s Office at 540-483-3000.

FRANKLIN COUNTY, VA – The Franklin County Sheriff's Office is investigating after a body was found in a river.


Authorities got a call around 5 p.m. on Tuesday that the body had been found in the Hardy area of the Roanoke River.


Units from various agencies responded and located an unidentified victim in the water, according to the sheriff's office.


The body has been transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Roanoke.


Authorities said, at this time, information is limited pending results from the autopsy.


This is an ongoing investigation.
